  Q:

What is an Automatic Duplicator?

A: Automatic Duplicator uses the same basic principles like the manual type duplicator. What really makes auto duplicators stand out is its robotic design. Unlike the manual type duplicator, where you had to manually change discs one by one, which is a waste of your time and money, the robotic design of auto duplicators allows you to duplicate hundred of discs without having to spend your precious time sitting around waiting. Users can set up the unit before leaving your office, then come back in the next morning with entire duplication job completed.

Q: How fast can your machine duplicate?

A: There are too many factors can effect the result, there is no simple answer. How fast can a duplicator produce has to depend on:

- The duplicator itself (the speed of the writer, the reader, and the duplication controller)
- The time takes to change a disc (unloading and loading of disc, with auto-loader or manually load)
- The file size (How many MB of data is on the master disc)
- The format of data (VCD, computer data, music CD, or others)
- The quality and the read- speed limitation of the master disc
- The quality and the write- speed limitation of the blank disc

The following chart is an example of how many CDs Apus-EZ 5810C can do in certain periods of time.

File size on master CD CD output
Per hour Per 8 hours per 24 hours
30 MB 142 1140 3422
50 MB 112 897 2693
100 MB 73 585 1757
300 MB 30 245 735
600 MB 16 130 392

650 MB

15 121 364
700 MB 14 113 340
800 MB 12 99 299

* The table is based on theoretical calculation, for reference purpose only.

A standard CD disc can hold 650MB of computer data, or 74 minutes of audio music. However, there are CD discs with extended capacity, which may be able to hold more than 650MB a disc.

Q: What is the difference between CD-R and CD-RW?

A: CD-Recordable (CD-R) can be recorded only once, but CD-ReWritable (CD-RW) can be recorded up to 1000 times. And since some of CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives are not specifically designated as "Multi-Read," CD-RW cannot be read on those CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives.

Q: I am looking for a stand-alone device that can automatically record songs from different CDs to one blank CD. Do you have anything like that?

A: Apus series would be your best pick. All you have to do is to program which songs you want, then Apus can take care of the rest for you. Contact us for more information.

Q: Can your Auto Duplicators copy music, video or multimedia video games?

A: Yes, as long as the original DVD and CD are not copy protected. However, DVD movies cannot be copied using the CD-duplicators. In such cases, DVD models are available in both Apus and Aqulia series. Apus and Aqulia both have DVD model avaliable. Please check out products.

Q: What if I have more than one master disc that I would like to duplicate? Does your machine has Multi Master Disc function?

A: If you would like to duplicate more than one disc, you can look into Apus-EZ PLUS models. Both of these models supports HDD, and has the "Multi-disc copy" function, this means all you need to do is to set up the unit with the discs that you needed to duplicate, and the job can be done easily, without going through the hassle of changing disc after disc.

Q: How should I take care of my CDs and DVDs?

A: Please visit National Institude of Standards and Technology website for their Care and Handling Guide for the Preservation of CDs and DVDs.
